The African Queen

The African Queen is the famed 1912 steam launch immortalized in the 1951 Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn film The African Queen. After shuttling cargo and missionaries across the Victoria Nile and Lake Albert, it was rediscovered, restored, and brought to Key Largo, Florida, in the early 1980s. Now docked at Marina Del Mar, the boat offers daily 1½-hour canal cruises through the Port Largo Canals, open-deck sightseeing tours, and private event charters—including opportunities to steer the historic vessel—served year-round by Capt. Lance and Suzanne Holmquist following a comprehensive restoration ahead of her 100th anniversary.
